Saudi Arabia – Jeddah 2013-01-05

In cooperation with Ministry of Agriculture, Saudi Aquaculture Society has studied the possibility of rescheduling the loans imposed on the investors in Aquaculture Sector due to the infection of the Shrimp Farming projects in the region with WSSV that has led to complete death of the shrimp existing in the farms.

The investors in these projects have incurred very large losses. This has incited seeking the assistance and joint coordination with the ministry in order to find quick solutions through the processes of researches and studies that lead to producing new types of shrimp that may not be affected by such disease of finding remedial solutions in  order to overcome this virus and thus practicing the farming works again. SAS has asked his Excellency Minister of Agriculture to address Agriculture Development Fund with the purpose of rescheduling the payment of loans resulting from such projects and giving them some time to resume their activity and practicing their work, so that they will be able to fulfill their obligations toward the fund and the other parties inside and outside KSA.
