HE Minister of Agriculture Eng. Abdurrahman Bin Abdul Mohsen Alfadli encouraged Saudi Aquaculture Society to increase production level to take part in achieving food security. This was reported when his majesty received, in his office in the ministry on Moharram 30^th 1437 H corresponding to November 12^th 2015, Chairman of and members of Board of Directors of Saudi Aquaculture Society in occasion of approving the results of electing members of Saudi Aquaculture Society's Board of Directors for the second session.

Eng. Al-Balaa, chairman of Saudi Aquaculture Society's Board of Directors presented thanking and appreciation for HE Minister of Agriculture and Ministry of Agriculture's support and efforts granted to Saudi Aquaculture Society. During the meeting, several topics related to development of aquaculture projects, overcoming the obstacles, and increasing production capacity to 600 thousand tops annually were discussed.  

The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Fisheries Eng. Jaber Mohammed Alshehri and Director General of  Aquaculture Department Management Eng. Ahmed Saleh Aleiadah.

It is stated that Ministry of Agriculture and Saudi Aquaculture Society aim to change the consumptive style as consumption rate per capita in KSA of fish products is about 11.5 while the international rate is about 19 kg per annum.
