The Saudi Aquaculture Society, in cooperation with the National Program for the Development of the Fisheries Sector and the General Administration of Fisheries, organized a workshop on biosecurity applications in the twenty-fifth aquaculture projects on Sunday, March 20, 2022 in Jeddah, the Hilton Hotel. Al Sheikhi The workshop that discusses the state of biosecurity in aquaculture projects and the current health situation, and this workshop is organized periodically and continuously. The main outcomes of the workshop were summarized in; 1- Exchanging experiences and expertise in the field of aquatic health. 2- The most prominent technologies in the field of aquaculture. 3- The periodic outputs of the project to monitor the biosecurity controls in the farming projects. 4- Updating the health status and production status of the projects. 5- Meeting of the Technical Committee for Biosecurity in the Kingdom. The workshop was attended by a number of officials from major companies in the sector, and the most prominent specialists and experts in the field participated in it.

Under the supervision of the General Department of Fisheries, the Saudi Aquaculture Society organized on Monday, September 13, in Jeddah, the Casablanca Hotel, the twenty-fourth biosecurity applications workshop for aquaculture projects in the Kingdom, as part of a project to monitor and follow up biosecurity applications in aquaculture projects, which is one of its most prominent goals. Attracting global experiences in the field through the periodic participation of experts and consultants from all over the world, reviewing the state of biosecurity during the past quarter, discussing standard and operational procedures and updating them periodically, in addition to the meeting of the Technical Committee for Biosecurity in the Kingdom, which submits the most prominent recommendations to the Higher Biosecurity Committee in the Kingdom. A window for exchanging local experiences and expertise between aquaculture projects in the Kingdom. The workshop was attended by a number of office holders and officials in the aquaculture sector and relevant authorities, as it was covered in the media by some TV channels such as SBC and others.

A workshop on biosecurity applications in the twenty-second aquaculture projects was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Riyadh today, Monday, January 13, 2020, under the patronage of His Excellency the Director-General of the General Administration of Fisheries, the CEO of the National Program for the Development of the Fisheries Sector, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Sheikhi, with the participation of His Excellency Amin General of the Saudi Aquaculture Society, Eng. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Athebi, where the workshop opened with a welcoming speech from His Excellency the CEO of the National Program in which he pointed out the importance of the role of biosecurity in monitoring aquaculture projects as one of the important programs supported and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the National Program for the Development of the Fisheries Sector To protect the national aquaculture industry and enhance its capacity to face disease challenges. His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Saudi Aquaculture Society also stressed the importance of the existing cooperation between the Ministry, the National Program and the Society, which had a great impact on the success of the program’s work so far.
