"Ministry of Agriculture" leads an ambitious plan to produce 600.000 tons of aquaculture during 15 years almost of marine fishes

Director of aquaculture management  in Ministry of Agriculture and Supervisor General of "Investment Opportunities in Aquaculture Forum" Eng. Ahmed Bin Saleh   Al-Eiyadah assured that investment opportunities in aquaculture are considered a promising future for home and investors. 
Eng. Al-Eiyadah, during the press conference held in cooperation with Yanbou Governor Eng. Mosaed Alsalem to shed light on "Investment Opportunities in Aquaculture Forum" organized by Ministry of Agriculture in Yanbou on 17/04/1437 H corresponding to 27/01/2016 G under royal care of HRH Prince Dr. Faisal Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz prince of Al-Madina Region, showed that such care is considered addition to the forum. In addition, he stated that the forum is accompanied with an exhibition about the sector industry.  The forum is the introduction of events encouraging investment in aquaculture sector based on the Ministers Council's agreement on setting up national program to develop fish resources sector in KSA. It is believed that the forum serves in shedding light on the available investment opportunities in a sector in order to achieve food security and provide healthy and high quality food to meet the increasing demand of fish protein. This vision assures Ministry of Agriculture's desire to increase the average per capita of sea products from 12 kg to reach the international average 19 kg annually through applying several modern aquaculture systems. 
Eng. Al-Eiyadah, added that the strategic plan focused on the relative advantages representing the aquaculture industry including the geographic nature of the red sea water suitable for aquaculture in floating cages, availability of large coasts on the red sea having suitable climate for different types of fishes and shrimps, and the geographic and strategic position of KSA and proximity to local, regional, and international marketing centers. He also explained that the ambitious strategic plan aims to produce 600.000 of aquaculture during 15 years mostly sea fishes. Production is expected to reach 12 million kilograms by the end of this year from floating cages. The plan also aims to provide 200.000 job opportunities for both males and females in the fish resources sector. Such large expansion of aquaculture operations is expected to increase the fishes' resources sector's contributions in national economy and employment levels raise in rural areas. 
From his side, HM Yanbou Governor Eng. Mosaed Alsalem welcomed the investors and considered himself a promised the investors to facilitate all the procedures supporting investment in the promising city. 
The forum aims to provide a healthy national base for aquaculture projects as a main source of development in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ensuring sustainability, products' quality and safety, protecting its profitability, and encouraging its development in a responsible method environmentally. It also aims to expand the investment economic programs of aquaculture projects to prove job opportunities and take part in developing rural and coastal areas.
