Today, Wednesday October 5th 21016 , Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture announced provisional ban on importing alive cat fish from Republic of Zimbabwe due to Aphanomyces invadans infection. It is one of the fatiguing diseases that lead to weaken fish vitality as well as reducing immune ability. The disease is caused by one of water fungi. The Ministry issued this resolution based on the warning newsletter of OIE which issued a report about the infection. The report states that the infection was recorded in the mid of September 2016 and still continue. Management of Animal and Plant Quarantine in Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture assured the importance of the referred banning as a cautionary procedure for public health and food safety.
