In the context of the media coverage for the forum "challenges and opportunities of aquaculture in inland water within the Kingdom between the reality and future prospects" in which a number of the problems and challenges have been discussed that faces the aquaculture sector in inland water within the Kingdom including the current situation of the markets.
After following up what published on the forum, it has been noticed a press title in Okaz Newspaper in its version issued on Monday 10/05/1438 AH as said by the Secretary – General of Saudi Aquaculture Society Eng. E. Mohammed Ibrahim Odaibi in which he said that Saudi Food and Drug Authority is responsible for entering imported fish infected with Colera from one of the neighbor countries.
So the Society assured its keenness on the transparency and constructive cooperation with all bodies which achieve the public interests for aquaculture sector within the Kingdom. Moreover it would like to refer that what published as said by the Secretary – General is not correct and the information related to this matter have been misunderstood in its context.
We stress that the Secretary – General didn't express any statements in the form that has been published and the results mentioned in the news were in the work of the committees assigned by Ministry of Environment and Water and Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority and Saudi Aquaculture Society assuring our keenness on the importance of the full cooperation between the society and Food and Drug Authority.
