Under the sponsorship of his excellency, the Deputy Minister for Fishery Resources Eng./ Ahmed Ibn Saleh Al- Eiadh, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture is intending to hold a workshop around the best way to apply the road map of algae producing techniques in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The workshop shall be hold on Sunday 12 February 2017, in the headquarter of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Riyadh City.
The invitations were sent to number of the governmental and private authorities. In addition to number of the large companiesinterested and concerned in the industry of mariculturing and manufacturing algae in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Which included, the Saudi Aquaculture Society, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Aramco Saudi Arabia Company, Sabek Company, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, the Royal Authority of Jubail, Yanbu, the Saudi Company for Electricity, and Arasco Company.Along with representative of the National Committee of Clean Development Mechanism.
The participants will discuss in the workshop the appropriate mechanism to implement the searching, development, and experimental production project, suggested by the road map of algae producing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It should be noted that algae marciculture in the Saudi Kingdom, which considered as one of the outcomes of the state strategy to develop aquaculture sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has set one of the most important goals of the program of developing algae to use it in producing and manufacturing the fish feed.
To provide a local feed industry in parallel with the great development happened fish producing sector in the Saudi Kingdom, to achieve the goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia vision to make the production of the Saudi Kingdom of fish reach 600,000 tons per year, by 2030.
