In cooperation with Saudi Aquaculture Society and Fish Farms Administration, General Administration of Agricultural Affairs in Riyadh held workshop in association with Principality of Riyadh represented by General Administration of Environment Health and Saudi Aquaculture Society to discuss the most significant health requirements and technical to be fulfilled by fish products organizations as well as controlling the quality of fish products. In addition, the workshop discussed health status and quality of fish markets in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and currently and the future vision.
Fish Recourses Sector in Ministry of Environment, Water, & Agriculture seeks to apply internationally competitive quality standards in coordination with the concerned authorities to increase the annual consumption rate of fish products in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and improve public health besides diversifying the food base and providing it perfectly along with guaranteeing its sustainability both in production and consumption.
It is worth to be mentioned that trends of health and safety of fish products in Saudi markets meet the targets of encouraging consumptive style and fish resources sector development hoping to reach 100.000 tons by 2020 and 600.000 tons by 2030 of aquatic sector production.
This workshop held within a series of technical and practical workshops specialized in all fields related to inspection works of fish products markets organizations and mechanisms of quality control of fish products in these markets.
