The Saudi Aquaculture Society held a workshop “Prospects and challenges of increasing the consumption of seafood in the Kingdom” in cooperation with the Committee on Agriculture and Food Security in the Riyadh Chamber and with the participation of a number of relevant authorities, with the aim of increasing the per capita consumption of fish food in the Kingdom to the global average. The workshop reviewed a number of Among the initiatives such as the initiatives to encourage the consumption pattern of seafood and the initiative of marketing campaigns that aim to introduce the health benefits of seafood and increase per capita consumption of seafood in the Kingdom.

Plans to encourage consumers to raise the rate of their consumption of the nationally farmed products "fish" were reviewed, which is one of the main pillars in the plans to encourage consumers to raise the rate of their consumption of fish products by providing fresh, safe and healthy products that enjoy the highest standards of quality and food safety and are available at affordable prices. On the sidelines of the workshop, the Saudi Aquaculture Society, represented by the Secretary-General, Eng. Muhammad Otaibi, and the National Program for the Development of the Fisheries Sector, represented by the CEO, Dr. Ali Al-Sheikhi, signed a cooperation agreement with the Exhibition Business Corporation represented by the CEO, Mr. Abdul Rahim, with the aim of holding exhibitions and conferences and participating in them.
