The average volume of aquaculture production in inland waters is 7000 tons per year, which constitutes less than 10% of the total production volume of national aquaculture projects. Today, Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the headquarters of the Riyadh Chamber in Riyadh, a workshop was held for aquaculture projects in inland waters, which is organized by the Chamber Riyadh, in cooperation with the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Riyadh region, with the participation of the Saudi Aquaculture Society, the Agricultural Development Fund and the National Program for the Development of the Fisheries Sector.
This workshop is a continuation of the workshops held in cooperation with the Riyadh Chamber with the aim of stimulating the aquaculture sector in inland waters and reviewing the best ways that contribute to the expansion and growth of this sector and increasing the percentage of its contribution to the total production of national aquaculture projects. The Kingdom, represented by the National Program for the Development of the Fisheries Sector, adopts ambitious plans for the development of the aquaculture sector in the inland waters and works to improve the production techniques used by motivating investors to use modern technologies that contribute to preserving water resources, increasing operating efficiency and enhancing biosecurity measures.
