In Cooperation with  Center for Desert Agriculture(CDA) in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust) and National Prawn Company, a workshop has been held on WSSV treatment in university's headquarter in Thuwal during the period from 18th to 19th May 2013 AD. This virus has infected most of shrimp farms operating within KSA during the last period and it has caused severe losses to the same. The appearance of Virus infection has been recorded in the end of 2010 AD and such infection continued until it has reached its peak on 2012 AD. WSSV Virus Treatment Workshop has been held in headquarter of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust).

Competent experts, on top of then the well-known expert of shrimp diseases Dr. Tim Flagyl from Mahidol University, Thailand has participated in this workshop.
