Saudi Aquaculture Society held a workshop of bio-security application in aquaculture projects titled uses of ozone in aquaculture systems on Thursday, 07 July 2016 in Jeddah. T he workshop hosted the French expert, Mr. Didier Leclercq to introduce Ozone technology and its uses as one of the best available options for water treatment and achieving an effective prevention of pathogenic microbes, whether viral or bacterial or Protozoa. Ozone also works to achieve further results in water treatment, including assisting in the disposal of solid molecules and phytoplankton in the water and the reduction of toxic nutrients.
Referrals were directed to a number of concerned authorities from the private and public sectors, and it was attended by representatives of aquaculture farms and projects. They also reviewed the status of bio-security in aquaculture projects either shrimp or fish production projects, as well as the general situation of production.
