In cooperation with Saudi Aquaculture Society; Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture intends to hold the forum "challenges and opportunities of aquaculture in inland water within the Kingdom between the reality and future prospects" on Sunday, 08th Jamada Al Awwal 1438 AH, corresponding to February 05th, 2017 AD in headquarter of Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) in Riyadh City and the forum will be held under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli.
Undersecretary of Fisheries, Eng. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Aiadh expressed his great appreciation for the care received by the forum on part of His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and he confirmed that this forum will play a large role in causing a big leap in the business of sector of aquaculture in the inland water. He added that, this forum will discuss most of the issues, which are important for the investors in this field, highlight all marketing and technical challenges and discuss the solutions and proposals necessary for solving the same, so that the sector will keep up with the huge development witnessed by the aquacultures in the seawater and causes a quantum leap in the volume of production and the development of the used techniques.
His Excellency, Undersecretary of Fisheries, showed that the volume of production in the inland water farming exceeded 6000 tons/year representing around 20% out of the production of the aquaculture within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the largest quantities of this production are centralized in regions of Riyadh and Al-Qassim.
