Cooperation agreement was signed between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the People's Republic of China, represented by the General Administration of Customs, on the export of Saudi aquaculture products to China on Saturday 10th November, 2018. The agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture for Agriculture Eng. Ahmed bin Saleh Al Eyadh and the Chinese side by the Chinese Deputy Minister of Customs, Mr. Li Guo.
The signing ceremony was held in Shanghai, the economic capital of China, in the presence of Chief Executive Officer of the National Fisheries Development Program Dr. Ali Bin Mohammed Al Sheikhi, and Chairman of the Saudi Aquaculture Society Eng. Ahmed Al-Balaa, and Secretary General of Saudi Aquaculture Society Eng. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Odaiby and number of officials from the Chinese side and the Consulate of Saudi Arabia in Shanghai.
HE Eng. Al Eyadh expressed his pleasure at signing this agreement, which is an example of the joint cooperation between the two sides, which confirms the deep economic and trade relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China, which is one of the largest trading partners of the Kingdom in the world.
HE expressed that this agreement will facilitate the export of Saudi aquaculture products to China, which is one of the largest markets for the import of fish products and the most developed one, and will improve the customs procedures between the two countries in this regard where it is expected to export 45 thousand tons of fish products worth more than one billion By the end of this year, to be exported 80 thousand tons by 2020 with a total value of 2 billion riyals. He also praised the great efforts exerted by the Ministry of Commerce in the Kingdom and the Export Promotion Authority for the successful signing of this agreement.
