In cooperation with National Prawn Company, Saudi Aquaculture Society has organized a specialized workshop on the safety and health of shrimp and the applicable Biosecurity procedures under title " Shrimp Health Management" at the headquarter of National Prawn Company (Al Lith). All companies and authorities operating in field of shrimp production in KSA, whether the private farms or research centers affiliated to Ministry of Agriculture have been invited. Dr. Victoria Aldi, expert in Shrimp Diseases and Biosecurity and consultant at National Prawn Company has given a lecture in the workshop.
SAS has adopted with Ministry of Agriculture an ambitious program aims at entering Ghanimi Shrimp to KSA as one of the options proposed for facing the problem of WSSV Virus that has greatly affected shrimp production in KSA.
In cooperation with its concerned partners whether the Ministry of Agriculture or the large companies like National Prawn Company, SAS works on setting plans in order to assist the farms and companies working in field of shrimp production; especially the application of Biosecurity Procedures in those projects in order to keep the safety thereof and as one of the assisting factors in facing the diseases.
